A Guide To Wearing Flowers In Your Hair

Wearing flowers is a practice that has probably existed since the beginning of human life, with each culture and region adapting it into their own traditions and attaching to it some significance for weddings, worshiping and other ceremonial occasions. Be it the Indian gajra flower or corsages, flowers are a common accessory. Here is how you can use them to adorn your tresses.

Let’s begin with a few open hairstyles that suit a variety of hair and are easier to make. Loose beach curls are effortlessly stylish and can be adorned by flowers in multiple ways. Pull out sections of hair from both sides of the crown, twist or braid them and pin them to the back of the head along with  floral comb, just a bunch of bright fresh blooms for a pretty spring look. For something darker and edgier, go for darker colors or those that match your hair color and have individual blossoms tucked along the length of the twisted sections, such as the deep red roses in the picture below. For more character to the look, go for a side-swept hairdo with some braided sections of hair and pin gorgeous lush white blooms to it.

A classic chignon adorned on one side with petite flowers will always remain in vogue. If you’re going for a more textured look however, such as curled hair tied into a braided bun, add pastel flowers of different types to it, trailing from one side for added effect. It looks soft and elegant. For something simpler and more manageable, a tight fishtail with an assortment of bridal flowers at the base would be the perfect choice.

A floral headgear in a cool color palette is a nice way to add a pop of radiant color to the look without fearing about going overboard. Just curl the hair at the bottom and you’re ready to go! For a cleaner, more princessy look, you can try this dainty flower tiara that fits snugly around the head. And if you feel like going for something more elaborate, try this loose fishtail braid studded with cute little flowers throughout and complemented by a matching flower tiara.
