How to make your own Garland for the Wedding

In this world of DIYs, everyone wants to do things on their own. Not only it adds meaning to the thing when its home made but you also value more than the readymade products because of the effort you have put in making them. This is also how you add some personal touch to the wedding. The garland ceremony is an important ritual as it is the first time the bride and the groom see each other. Also it the most fun as everybody takes part in it. So handmade garlands will just be a cherry on the cake.

Pick the flowers by yourself

I know weddings are a lavish affair and the couple hardly gets time from the arrangements but if really want the garlands to be special, pick your or your partners favorite flowers. This adds a greater meaning and also it will be a fun activity. But if you don’t have much time, you can ask your bridesmaids to do so. This will still make the garlands special.

Make them together

Making garlands should definitely be done together. This will not only give you some time private but it can also be a nice idea for a pre wedding photo shoot. Great shots can be taken while you make the garlands from handpicked flowers and foliage.

Add personal notes

This is my favorite idea as it makes these simple garlands so meaningful and romantic. You can write anything from a sweet memory to an insight joke and even your vows that will remain with your partner for a life time. You can even read them in front of your guests after exchanging the garlands.

No need to be perfect

I know that you want every aspect to be next to perfection, but here you can go a little easy on yourself. If you have made the garlands they must look like you have made them so don’t compare them to the ones you get in the market. Give them a design or pattern of your own as it’s all about adding a personal touch to the wedding. Moreover, you can also preserve them in order to keep that moment with you forever.
